Spotlight Speakers

Kayce Aspen

Kayce Aspen is currently a psychologist 4 with the Department of Corrections in Education Services. Kayce has her Psy.D. in Counseling Psychology from Northwest University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Deaf Education for birth-12th grade children. Kayce holds a WA state residential teaching certification in Special Education with an endorsement in Deaf Education and has experience teaching and implementing special education services to children in the classroom. Prior to her current role she worked in the correctional system providing Mental Health Services to incarcerated individuals across different custody levels and levels of care.

Panel Presentation

Our very own Kim Thomson will moderate a panel of our colleagues will discuss the balance we have to strike between the Medical and Social Justice Models of disability and how different size institutions and offices influence that balance.

Workshop

We will explore different accommodation scenarios in small groups. Kaitlyn Valance and the Board will facilitate this large group activity.
